The Maple team has been visiting incredible businesses all over the UK to share their stories.
Steering Board member Leonie Briggs runs Amazelab — aiming to put a fun and creative take on all things STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and maths) with the aim of providing engaging opportunities through interactive workshops.
The Maple team caught up with Leonie at Barnsley Town Hall where she was hosting a Potion Making Workshop to engage young people in STEAM subjects. Leonie is passionate about educating children in science. She shares with us her own experience of barriers to entrepreneurship and her passion to ensure every young person has the opportunities and knowledge to start a business.
The team headed to the Oasis Community Centre in Scunthorpe to meet with Michelle Donner, the Regional Director, to discuss the work of the Maple Review.
The Oasis Community Space supports local people throughout the community by providing a space to test their ideas and equipping them with the knowledge to move forward, whether that involves starting a business, building a community project or simply offering a place to meet and discuss options.
The work they are doing for young people in the community is incredible, so a huge congratulations to them.
